Platform Usage Data: Interactions with the platform, including login activity and feature usage
We aim to collect only the information necessary to support mentoring and program effectiveness. We seek to follow data minimization and responsible data handling practices commonly used in educational and youth-serving environments.

Support mentors in delivering individualized, trauma-informed guidance

SELvie may use AI-enabled features to support mentors with insights and recommendations.
AI features are designed to assist mentors, not replace human judgment
We limit the use of sensitive personal information in AI processing where possible
We do not use customer data to train public or shared AI models
We aim to apply responsible AI and data stewardship practices appropriate for educational and youth-support settings.
6. Data Retention
We retain data for as long as necessary to support program delivery and reporting, or as required by our partner organizations.
Organizations using SELvie may request deletion or anonymization of their data, subject to applicable requirements.

Organizations control access to their data within SELvie. Authorized users may:
Access and update their information
Request corrections to inaccurate data
Request data deletion through their organization or by contacting us
8. Children and Youth Data
SELvie is designed for use by organizations serving youth. We handle student data under the direction of partner organizations (such as schools or nonprofits).
We expect our partners to obtain appropriate consent and comply with applicable laws and organizational requirements when providing student data to SELvie. SELvie is intended to support organizations serving youth in ways that align with commonly recognized student privacy and youth data protection practices, including FERPA- and COPPA-informed approaches where applicable.
